Day 9: (04/13) :: to 105 :: 3.8 miles
May took us back to the trail this afternoon after 5 full zero days at home. The storm seemed never ending. It rained for 8 days straight! That seems rather unusual for Southern California! We hiked an easy 3.8 miles through beautiful wild flower filled meadows. It hardly felt like we exerted ourselves at all. Our resting place for the evening is under an oak tree, next to a creek. While we were setting up, a German girl arrived who calls herself Feather. Everyone hiking the PCT is “supposed” to have trail name, according to tradition. We assume that was her trail name. We wonder how she got into the US during this Covid crisis, she must have already been here? She talked to us a short while, then retreated back down the creek to another campsite. I think she is only the second thru hiker we have spoken with.
